Description

We are looking for someone who wants to help build and develop the operations with us.

We have five specialists/consultants and one resident doctor, and we need you to complete our team. The area of operation includes internal medicine, including stroke care, neurology, rehabilitation medicine, hematology, and rheumatology.

The neurological services are provided at an outpatient unit with a day care department and clinic, as well as an associated inpatient unit with 5 beds for neurology. The stroke unit with 23 beds is a separate unit on the same ward and is managed by physicians in internal medicine. The working method is team-based with diagnosis-coordinating nurses who follow the patient. Currently, there are contact nurses for Parkinson's, MS, Myasthenia gravis, epilepsy, brain tumors, headaches, and motor neuron diseases.

Responsibilities

Receive and assess incoming referrals. Manage visits at the clinic and day care department in collaboration with other team members. Act as a consultant in neurological issues for the rest of the hospital and primary care. Supervise doctors in training at candidate, AT, BT, and ST levels. Regular duties on the neurology ward as a consultant/specialist. We consider personal preferences as much as possible in relation to the rest of the team, and the goal is to have a rotation between the aforementioned positions.

Weekend duties on the stroke/neurology ward are continuously scheduled and will be relevant after mutual agreement.

Qualifications

Specialist competence in neurology.

In the event of recruitment of doctors with foreign licenses/specialist certificates, the relevant position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish licenses/specialist certificates.
